This coffee takes its name from the farm and wet mill that produced it, owned by Beyene Figa in the Banko area of Kochere. Coffee production in Ethiopia remains largely traditional, and this particular coffee is no different with limited use of fertilisers and pesticides and with a manual coffee cultivation system and drying methods. Some six hundred smallholder farmers in this area deliver tiny amounts of cherries daily to the wet miller. On average, the size of the farms are less than 1 hectares with less than 1500 trees. Each tree produces only enough cherries for 100-200 grams of green beans.
